The latest flagship Oppo Find X5 Pro will succeed the Oppo Find X3 Pro, which was launched last year and promises to bring several improvements in the design, build quality, performance, cameras, and battery charging technology. Following its subsidiary OnePlus, Oppo has also partnered with Hasselblad for developing the cameras for this smartphone. The company appears to have thrown the kitchen sink at it when it comes to features. Let’s have a closer look at it below.

The use of ceramic material means this handset is relatively heavy at 218 grams. The body is sealed for water and dust resistance as it comes with an IP68 certification.
The smartphone sports a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz screen refresh rate coupled with an insane 1000Hz touch sampling rate, which should aid while gaming. Being an LTPO panel, it can vary its refresh rates between 1Hz to 120Hz depending on the content on the screen. The display boasts of 1,300 nits of peak brightness with 8,192 brightness levels to offer optimum brightness in different lighting conditions. The display also supports 10-bit colours and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus promises to protect the display from accidental drops.
Oppo has plonked it with the best available Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 built on a 4nm fabrication process for its flagship smartphone. Oppo says it has employed a vapour cooling chamber that is 75% larger to tame the fire breathing Snapdragon processor. It comes equipped with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 memory that functions on two lanes.
Cameras are the main highlight in the Oppo Find X5 Pro, with it getting two 50MP Sony IMX766 sensors, which is currently one of the best performing sensors in the market. The primary 50MP snapper will come with an f/1.7 aperture, 5-axis OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), and sensor-shift technology, which was first seen in iPhones. The ultra-wide 50MP shooter comes with an f/2.2 aperture, while the 13MP Samsung S5K3M5 telephoto sensor comes with an f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical and 5x hybrid zoom capability.
The cameras will be tuned by Hasselblad and the image processing will be handled by Oppo’s proprietary MariSilicon X NPU. OPPO’s MariSilicon X is a 6nm imaging NPU, which utilises HDR & NR AI(Artificial Intelligence) to produce rich and vivid colour output. It also reduces noise in 4K videos shot at night and boosts the overall quality. Selfie duties are handled by the 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
Other noteworthy features include 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and USB-C, among many others. The Oppo Find X5 Pro comes with a 5,000mAh battery under its hood which supports 80-watt wired SuperVOOC charging, 50-watt wireless AIRVOOC charging, and reverse charging. The phone runs on ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 out of the box.

The Oppo find X5 Pro comes with a price tag of 1299 Euros (approx. ₹1,10,000). You can get it in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White colour options. It is up for pre-order from today in several markets and will go on sale from March 14. Find X5 Series owners will get OPPO’s premium International Warranty Service, which can be used at over 2,500 service centres in 62 countries.
