Today, OPPO announced its annual Inno Day 2021 on its website. The event will span two days, from December 14 to 15.
The keynote speech and “Innovative Product Launch Event” will be held on December 14. It will be followed by the “New Flagship Product Launch Event” on December 15.
The Theme for 2021
The theme for this year is “Reimaging the Future”. Now, we’re not sure if that’s a typo and if it should instead be “Reimagining the Future”. However, if OPPO has used the word ‘reimage’ intentionally, we could speculate that the company is planning to unveil something to do with displays or images.
Interactive and Entertaining
The Inno Day will be the company’s first ever virtual event and will be hosted in Shenzhen, China. The smartphone maker plans to showcase its accomplishments and share strategy updates at the event. OPPO touts Inno Day as the most interactive online events in recent years.
The company has even made an OPPO INNO WORLD to set the virtual stage for the event. It will allow visitors to don virtual avatars and even “visit” all the exhibition stalls, virtually, of course. That’s not all, the event will also let you socialize with others. OPPO is trying to boost the entertainment quotient by scattering easter eggs in the virtual world. You can even invite other visitors to hunt for the virtual easter eggs.
Expect a Flagship Foldable Smartphone
Rumours suggest that OPPO will launch its flagship foldable phone this year. Named the OPPO Find N, it could feature an 8-inch internal folding screen having a refresh rate of 120Hz. Furthermore, it will also have a 6.5-inch 60Hz external screen.
Reports say that the unit could be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC. It could have a 50MP main rear camera with IMX766 sensor, a 16MP camera with IMX481 sensor, and a 13MP camera with Samsung S5K3M5 sensor. It may also pack a 32MP front camera.
A Look at Last Year’s Event
Last year’s Inno Day theme was “Leap into the Future”. OPPO had showcased the OPPO X 2021 rollable concept handset, the OPPO CybeReal AR application, as well as the OPPO AR Glass 2021. The company had also unveiled its “3+N+X” technology development strategy for the first time.
