The Oppo Watch Free was launched in Oppo’s home country, China, in September 2021. Now the smartwatch has finally reached the shores of India. Oppo has confirmed that the Oppo Watch Free will take the stage along with the company’s latest Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro smartphones in an event scheduled for February 4, 2022, in India.
The Oppo Watch Free sports a rectangular 1.75-inch 2.5D curved AMOLED display, motion sensor, SpO2 sensors, heart rate sensor, 100+ sports modes, among other features. It was launched in China at a starting price of CNY 549 (around ₹6,300). The NFC version was priced at CNY 599 (around ₹6,800). The Indian prices are also expected to be similar to China’s pricing.
OPPO Watch Free Features, Specifications
The Oppo Watch Free is built entirely out of polycarbonate and comes with silicone straps. It is very lightweight at 32.6 grams, including the straps, and is water-resistant up to 50 metres. The smartwatch sports a 1.64-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved edges, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 326 PPI Pixel density. The Oppo Watch Free comes with a six-axis motion sensor for fitness tracking. It also comes with other essential sensors such as optical heart rate and blood oxygen sensors (SpO2).
The Oppo Watch Free comes with daily activity tracking, sedentary reminders, and sleep monitoring features. The watch has 100+ sports modes inbuilt to automatically track up to six activities, namely walking, running, cycling, swimming, elliptical machine, and rowing machine. Its snoring monitor allows you to listen to recorded snores to get better. If you are an avid gamer, the ‘E-Sports’ mode will transfer all the notifications to the watch, allowing uninterrupted competitive gaming on your smartphone.
The Oppo Watch Free is powered by a 230mAh battery under its hood, coupled with fast charging technology. The company claims it can last a full day with just five minutes of charging. It can last up to 14 days on a full battery. The Oppo Watch Free is available in two colours, namely Quick Sand Gold and Silent Night Black in China. It remains to be seen which colourways will be offered in India.
