OPPO launched its first foldable smartphone dubbed the OPPO Find N back in December 2021. The device overwhelmed everyone with its design that made it look like a compact version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. What made it even more interesting was the fact that the smartphone was cheaper than its competitor. However, the OPPO Find N was never launched outside of China.
Rumour has it that OPPO is planning on expanding its foldable portfolio with the release of another device that could be the long-awaited OPPO flip-style foldable smartphone. Let’s take a closer look at the rumours surrounding the launch of OPPO’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 competitor.
OPPO Clamshell Foldable Smartphone Rumoured To Launch Soon
According to a report, OPPO might be working on an upcoming device that could be a vertical, clamshell “flip phone” style foldable, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 or the Huawei P50 Pocket. The rumour further suggests that the upcoming foldable could be more affordable compared to its competitors. To recall, the Oppo Find N debuted as a cheap alternative to its competitors in the Chinese market.

The OPPO Flip is said to be priced around CNY 5,000, which currently translates to around $756 or €718. If this holds true, this foldable could be much cheaper than its biggest competitor, which is the Galaxy Z Flip 3 ($999). As for the P50 Pocket, it starts at CNY 8,988 in China ($1,360 or €1,292), while the Galaxy Z Flip 3 can be bought for CNY 7,399 ($1,119 or €1,063).
The suggested price tags would clearly make a way for the device to launch in countries outside of China. Furthermore, the rumoured OPPO flip phone is reported to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC.
