Qualcomm has revealed the dates for the 2021 edition of its annual event: Snapdragon Tech Summit. The company has announced that Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021 is set to happen from November 30, 2021, to December 2, 2021. To those unaware, the company usually announces its new flagship processors during the Snapdragon Tech Summit every year. This year, the company is expected to unveil the Snapdragon 888’s successor. While the company hasn’t revealed the name of the upcoming processor, rumours suggest that the company might call it Qualcomm Snapdragon 898.

However, a new teaser shared by the company shows a boat tracing an infinity sign and reads “More to come, soon!” However, various reports have claimed that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 is built using Samsung Foundry’s 4nm EUV fabrication process. The upcoming processor is said to offer around 20% performance improvement over its predecessor, the Snapdragon 888.
The Snapdragon 898 is said to retain the Snapdragon 888’s 1 + 3 + 4 CPU core configuration, including four performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The chipset might feature one Cortex-X2-based CPU core clocked at 3.0GHz, three Cortex-A710-based CPU cores clocked at 2.5 GHz, and four Cortex-A510-based CPU cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 is said to feature the Adreno 730 integrated GPU which is said to bring about 20% performance improvement over the Adreno 660 that was used in the Snapdragon 888. Qualcomm is expected to include an X65 5G modem for 5G connectivity. We can expect various Android OEMs, including OnePlus, OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi to share teasers of their upcoming flagship smartphones based on the Snapdragon 898 chipset. Rumours suggest that the Xiaomi 12 will be the first smartphone in the world to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor.
