Redmi 9 Activ With 6.53-inch Display, Helio G35 Chip, 5,000mAh Battery Launched In India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched a new Redmi 9 series smartphone—Redmi 9 Activ—in India. The device is available for purchase via Amazon India’s website. The Redmi 9 Activ is an affordable smartphone that comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 processor. The smartphone packs up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. It features a 13MP dual-camera setup at the rear and a 5MP front-facing camera. The other features of the handset include dual-4G VoLTE, a 5,000mAh battery, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Redmi 9 Activ price in India is ₹9,499 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs ₹10,999. It comes in four colour variants: Carbon Black, Coral Green, Sky Blue, and Sporty Orange. We expect Redmi to sell this new smartphone via its official website, Mi Home stores, and other retail outlets in the coming days.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9 Activ features a 6.43-inch IPS LCD display that has HD+ resolution (1,600 x 720 pixels), a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a water-drops-shaped notch that houses the selfie camera. The smartphone runs Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12. Under the hood, the smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G35 processor. The device packs up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot, which lets you expand storage beyond 128GB. The smartphone features a rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor.

As for the camera, the Redmi 9 Activ has a dual-camera setup at the back that consists of a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video-calling, the handset sports a 5MP front-facing camera.

Connectivity features include a dual-SIM card slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also has an IR blaster that lets you control your household electronics equipment such as the AC and the TV. A 5,000mAh battery powers the device and supports 10W fast charging. The smartphone is 7.7mm thin and weighs 194 grammes.
