The Redmi A70, a new 70-inch Ultra HD TV has launched in China. The latest smart TV from the house of Redmi sports a 70-inch 4K screen with a contrast ratio of up to 5000:1 and a 96 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Redmi A70 smart TV offers 20W speakers and features two air ducts that help enhance the bass. The smart TV is equipped with a Quad-core A35 processor, backed by 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of flash memory.

The Redmi Smart TV A70 has been priced at RMB 2,999 (around ₹35,000) and will go on sale starting October 31, 2022 in China. Currently, there’s no word on whether the TV will make it to the global markets. Given Xiaomi’s previous product launches, the Redmi Smart TV A70’s chances of hitting global markets are poor.

The newly arrived Redmi Smart TV A70 has a 70-inch colour display with 4K (3840×2160 pixels) resolution and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio. The TV’s narrow bezels contribute to a 96 percent screen-to-body ratio. Redmi states that the TV has a 10-bit display panel with 178° viewing angles, covers 78 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and can display 1 billion primary colours.

The Redmi Smart TV A70 is powered by a quad-core A35 CPU with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There are two 10W speakers that produce clear audio. It also employs an air duct design and comes pre-installed with the Android-based MIUI TV. Connectivity options of the TV include 2.4GHz WiFi 802.11ac, two HDMI ports, two USB ports, Ethernet, S/PDIF, and AV input.
The Redmi TV A70 can be projected to, or cast from Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac. Xiaomi claims that its newest TV has passed over 300 machine tests, including numerous upright drops of the whole device, 12,000+ interface plug-in/out tests, and simulated indoor and outdoor temperature differential testing between -25°C and -60°C.
