Samsung has rolled out the August 2022 Android security patch for the Galaxy A52 4G and the Galaxy A53. The exact firmware version of the software update for the Samsung Galaxy A52 is A525FXXU4BVG2, while the update for the Samsung Galaxy A53 comes with firmware version A536EXXU3AVGA.
The latest security patch update for Samsung phones is currently being rolled out in Russia. However, we can expect the brand to expand the rollout to more regions soon. To check if you have received the August 2022 security patch on your Galaxy device, head to Settings > Software Update.
Samsung Galaxy A52 And Galaxy A53 August 2022 Security Update
Samsung states that the August 2022 security update fixes various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities found on Galaxy devices. Those vulnerabilities include improper access control, MAC address leak via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Samsung DeX and Samsung Knox vulnerabilities. Additionally, the update could also offer general UI/app bug fixes and device stability improvements.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 was introduced in early 2021 with Android 11-based One UI 3.0, and it was updated to the Android 12-based One UI a few months ago. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A53 was launched earlier this year with Android 12-based One UI 4. The smartphone received its first security update in April this year.
As for the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A52 features an octa-core Snapdragon 720G processor, a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display, a 4,500mAh battery, and a 64MP main camera. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A53 come equipped with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. Powering the device is an octa-core Exynos 1280 processor, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery.
