It’s been more than a year since Korean tech-giant Samsung introduced its flagship tablets—the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+. The successors to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 duo have been long-awaited. Now it looks like the wait might be finally coming to an end in the coming months as the renders of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets have surfaced on the web, courtesy of Evan Blass. This time around Samsung is said to launch an Ultra variant—the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra alongside the vanilla Tab S8 and Tab S8+.
All three upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tablets will have a landscape-oriented front camera that will reside on the top bezel. The upcoming Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will also be the first Samsung tablet to come with a notch. Moreover, the top edge of the panel (in landscape orientation) will house the power button and the volume rockers. The leaked renders also suggest that the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets will come with a flat edge design, similar to the Tab S7 series. Take a look at the leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra: Design, Renders and Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra appears to have very slim bezels all around, and as a result, the Tab S8 Ultra will come with a notch. Yes, you read that right. In 2021, even tablets are getting a display with a weird notch. Though the notch on the upcoming Galaxy flagship tablet doesn’t seem big. So that’s at least a slight relief. The notch houses a dual front camera setup, which is again a first for a Samsung tablet.

The bezels on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8+ don’t seem as small as the Tab S8 Ultra. Also, the Galaxy Tab S8 appears to have chunkier bezels compared to its elder sibling—the Galaxy Tab S8. Another change that could be noticed at a glance is that the vanilla Tab S8 will come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which will double as the power button. Whereas the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ seems to offer an in-display fingerprint scanner, similar to its predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is said to offer an 11-inch LPTS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate panel. Whereas, the Tab S8+ might sport a 12.4-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Tab S8+ is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor while the vanilla Tab S8 might be powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor. Samsung could also make use of its in-house Exynos processors in some regions.
All three Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets appear to have network reception antennas on the right corner of the top edge (when held in landscape mode). This could mean that the Tab S8 series tablets could come with a metal back and offer 5G or at least LTE connectivity.
