Samsung had recently released the One UI 4.0 Beta, based on Android 12, for its latest generation foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Now, it has extended its latest software to its older-generation foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold 2. Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy Z Flip. These smartphones were launched in 2020 and are currently running One UI 3.1.1, which is based on Android 11.
Samsung took to the Samsung Members forum to announce the availability of the Android 12 One UI 4.0 Beta for the said devices. Users, who want to find out the goodness of the latest software update, can enrol as beta testers via the Samsung Members app. Users will need to sign in by using their Samsung ID’s and participate by tapping the One UI Beta Program banner on the homepage. Initially available for Samsung’s home country, South Korea, the beta program is expected to expand to other markets like China, Germany, India, the UK, and the US.

The One UI 4.0 Beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Z Flip might turn out to be a buggy affair initially, as experienced by Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 users. However, a subsequent update was released, promising to fix all the major bugs. the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Z Flip also might get a couple of updates for the beta program before these devices receive a stable update sometime in January 2022.
