Samsung is expected to unveil the next iteration of its Fold and Flip devices in the coming months. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 are expected to launch sometime in August this year. Months before the official debut, Steve Hemmerstoffer, in collaboration with SmartPrix, has revealed some details about Samsung’s upcoming foldable handset—the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4: Design and Renders

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will carry the same design language as that of its predecessor, which means it will offer two displays including a main display and a cover display. The upcoming Fold 4 will offer a 6.2-inch cover display, and unfolding the Fold 4 will show a 7.6-inch display panel. Similar to the Fold 3, the upcoming foldable will feature OLED display panels with a high refresh rate. The report also suggests that Samsung is likely to use an improved version of the under-display camera.

Samsung appears experimenting with the overall dimensions of its foldable phones and as a result, the Fold 4 will have different dimensions compared to its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is said to measure 155 × 130 × 7.1mm when unfolded. To those unaware, the Z Fold 3 measures 158.2 × 128.1 × 6.4 mm when unfolded. With the Fold 4, Samsung is reducing the height of the foldable by a few millimeters, but it is increasing the length as well as the width. As a result, the screen aspect ratio looks slightly bigger compared to the predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will offer a triple-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The lenses on the Fold 4 will be protruding and look quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. OnLeaks suggests that Samsung has made a very slight change in the hinge design as well but the exact details about the same are not known as of now.
