Samsung’s WindFree Air Conditioners Offer Freeze Wash Auto Cleaning

Samsung recently introduced its WindFree split airconditioners in the Indian market. Now it has posted a video showcasing its auto-clean feature. Most of our cities face dust pollution and needless to say, the air conditioners accumulate a lot of dirt or grime. Sometimes the company-provided periodic maintenance isn’t enough. There could be premature clogging of the heat exchanger and it may affect the cooling performance of the aircon. 

You will get alerts on your smartphone every 480 hours to perform the auto clean procedure. Samsung says you can clean the indoor unit yourself just by a flick of a button on the remote. You don’t need to call the AC service guys if there’s minimal dirt accumulation. Also, you won’t need to showcase your disassembly skills to perform this function. Your WindFree AC will then perform three steps to clean it efficiently. Firstly, it will freeze the dirt and bacteria accumulated, then it will melt the dirt and wash it away, and lastly, it will dry up the moisture left. You can check the progress on its display. The dirty water or residue will be flushed away through the hose pipe and will not leak from the indoor unit.

Samsungs WindFree air conditioners offer silent operation, PM 1.0 filters, AI auto cooling, motion detection sensors, voice control, among many other features. The design of these ACs is different to that of a conventional air conditioner. It has 23,000 micro holes on its front panel, which throws air directly through the vents at a speed of 0.15 m/s.
