Sony PlayStation VR 2 To Arrive Early Next Year

Sony had announced the PlayStation VR2 at CES 2022 and also showcased images of the upcoming headset. Now, the company has revealed that the Sony PlayStation VR2 will launch in “early 2023.” Let’s have a look at the design, features, and specifications of the PS VR2.

Sony PS VR2 Headset Design

The design of the PS VR2 headset is in line with that of the PS5 family of products. The headset features a rounder design to fit the contours of the head. Sony states that its goal is to not only create a stylish headset that will fit in with your home’s décor, but also to offer an immersive gaming experience.

Sony PS VR2 Headset Features

The Sony PS VR2 will feature an OLED display with a resolution of 2000×2040 per eye. Additionally, it will feature 3D audio, eye tracking, and headset feedback.

The PlayStation maker states that it has tested the ergonomics of the upcoming headset to ensure that it will fit most head sizes comfortably. This has been done by balancing the weight of the headset and providing a headband that can be adjusted. Additionally, it comes with a lens adjustment dial, an adjustable scope, as well as a new built-in motor for haptic feedback.

Sony says that it was able to achieve a sleeker design and reduce the overall weight of the headset in spite of the newly added features. Furthermore, the PS VR2 headset features a new vent design which will prevent the lens from fogging up while gaming.
