SteelSeries has announced the new SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless and Apex Pro Mini wired mechanical keyboards. As their names suggest, these are smaller versions of the SteelSeries Apex Pro keyboards. The Apex Pro Mini Wireless and Apex Pro Mini wired keyboards have a form factor of 60 percent, which means you’ll be able to clear up more space for your gaming peripherals.
These keyboards feature mechanical switches that can be programmed such that a single key can perform two separate functions. When you press the key to one level, it will perform the first function. When you press it further down, the key will perform the second function. Let’s check out how this feature works.
Apex Pro Adjustable And Customisable Switches
The SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless and Apex Pro Mini wired mechanical keyboards come with OmniPoint 2.0 switches, an upgrade over those found in the Apex Pro. SteelSeries claims that these switches offer 11 times faster response time and 10 times faster actuation than conventional mechanical switches.
The sensitivity of the switches now varies between 0.2mm and 3.8mm, offering 37 levels of actuation per key. With a response time of 0.54ms, SteelSeries claims that it is the fastest keyboard in the world.
Another useful feature offered by the keyboard is its advanced customization. You can assign two keyboard actions to a single key. This can come in handy while gaming. For instance, you can program a key so that pressing it to one level will trigger walking, while pressing it further will trigger running. You can customise the keys as per your gaming requirements, giving you an advantage over others.
Additionally, the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless and Apex Pro Mini wired mechanical keyboards feature double shot PBT keycaps. The Apex Pro Mini comes with a detachable USB-C cable. On the other hand, the Apex Pro Mini Wireless supports Quantum 2.0 Wireless as well as Bluetooth.

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Wireless is priced at $239.99 (around ₹18,800). The Apex Pro Mini is slightly cheaper at $179.99 (around ₹14,000). It doesn’t ship to India currently.
