Suunto, a Finland based smartwatch maker is well known for its rugged products and advanced navigational features. Its latest Suunto 5 Peak is thinner and lighter than the original Suunto 5 smartwatch. In fact, it is one of the company’s lightest GPS sports watches. The Suunto 5 Peak weighs just 39 grams, which makes it 41% lighter than the original Suunto 5. The watch is fairly slim with 12.9mm thickness.

The Suunto 5 Peak comes in a 43mm dial size and sports a 1.1-inch display with 218 x 218 pixels screen resolution. Its fitness tracking features include over 80 sports modes, step counter, heart rate monitoring, calorie counter, wellness, sleep analysis, recovery, and more. The Burner feature gives you detailed information about the fat and carbs burned during your workout session.
Suunto’s smartwatches are known for their excellent navigational capabilities. Living up to its name, the Suunto 5 Peak offers 3D and heat maps functionality, which can be accessed via the Suunto app. Adventure buffs can utilise this feature to find safer routes while navigating. While doing so, you can also control the music on your smartphone and check notifications right on the watch.
The Suunto 5 Peak promises up to 10 days of standby on Time mode, which is two days lesser than the original Suunto 5. It comes with three sports modes. Keep it on the Performance mode, and it will deliver up to 20 hours on continuous usage. The Endurance mode doubles it by offering 40 hours of usage. Setting it on Tour mode with the GPS on will provide 100 hours of battery backup.
Suunto 5 Peak Price, Availability
The Suunto 5 Peak is available for pre-order in the US and Canada. It is priced at $329 (approx. ₹24,500) and will go on sale from February 1. It comes with options of six strap colours to choose from and a speckled one, which is made out of recycled straps.
