Tecno is gearing up to launch its latest smartphone in India. The company has started teasing its new Spark 8 Pro on its Twitter handle as well as on Amazon, where it would go on sale eventually. It will be a bigger brother to the previously launched Tecno Spark 8 and the Spark 8T in India. The teaser reveals some key aspects of the Tecno Spark 8 Pro, such as the 48MP camera, fast charging support, and a MediaTek processor. The smartphone was introduced in our neighbouring country, Bangladesh, revealing it in full and leaving nothing to the imagination.

Firstly, the ‘V’ type notch is gone, as it adopts a centrally placed hole-punch camera on the display. The fingerprint sensor is moved from the rear to the side-mounted power button, making the rear design look better and uncluttered. It also gets a striped texture at the back as opposed to its smaller siblings.
The Tecno Spark 8 Pro sports a massive 6.8-inch FullHD+ LCD. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core CPU, which is a definite performance upgrade from the Helio G35 chipset of the Tecno Spark 8T. It will be equipped with up to 6 GB RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage. It comes with a dedicated microSD card slot just like its siblings.
On the photography front, it comes with a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, which is touted to perform well in low-lit conditions. The remaining two sensors are a 2MP portrait and an AI f/2.0 lens. The company should have added an ultra-wide shooter instead of these virtually useless ancillary cameras. There’s an 8MP camera at the front, which would handle the selfie and video calling duties.
The Tecno Spark 8 Pro comes with a whopping 5000 mAh battery under its hood. It comes with a Type-C USB connector and 33-watt fast charging support, which promises to charge the phone to nearly 90 percent in an hour. The handset runs on HiOS 7.6 skin based on Android 11.
Tecno Spark 8 Pro Price, Availability
The Tecno Spark 8 Pro comes in two colours, namely Komodo Island and Interstellar Black. The 6/64GB variant is priced at BDT 16,990 (approx. ₹14,690) in Bangladesh. However, expect it to retail at around the ₹13,000 price point when it crosses the borders to enter India. It will face stiff competition from the Moto G31, Infinix Note 11, and Redmi Note 10 in that price category, which come with superior OLED displays.
