Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sport Edition With BMW-Inspired Design Launched: Price, Specifications

Tecno has announced a new designer version of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro. Called the Sports Edition, it comes with a special design, made in partnership with Designworks, which is the innovation studio of the BMW group. The company states that the smartphone is aimed at young users with a taste for luxury and a “crush” on automobile products. 

The Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sport Edition features an icy crystal design, with diamond cut edges in the back panel. The materials, colours, and finish were all chosen by Designworks and the design is heavily laden with crystal references, along with a hint of the BMW logo, at least in terms of the blue, white, and orange in the camera module. 

“Working together with a company like Tecno is inspiring, as it gives us the opportunity to focus on another user experience – the phone. While there is a difference in scale, something phones and cars have in common is that they are extremely personal and are relied on daily by their users, and they are also a means of personal expression,” said Andre De Salis, Creative Director, Industrial Design at Designworks in a statement.

Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition Specifications And Features

While the design of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition is refreshingly new, the specifications are a bit outdated. For one, it’s still a 4G smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. There is a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. 

The smartphone rocks a 50MP primary camera and two 2MP depth and macro shooters. The dot notch in the display houses a 32MP selfie shooter. The Spark 9 Pro features a 5000mAh battery and has an expandable microSD card slot as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sport Edition is priced at 1,16,800 Nigerian Naira (roughly ₹21,000). It will be available in regions including Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
