With 3.5mm headphone jacks disappearing from smartphones, wireless earphones have become a necessity these days, especially if you are a music lover or take a lot of calls. Although early true wireless earphones were riddled with plenty of issues 2-3 years ago, newer generation truly wireless Bluetooth earphones have come a long way and are offering excellent audio quality and battery life even at affordable prices. However, that doesn’t mean you can blindly buy any earphones. You have to be pretty careful in choosing them, no matter what your budget is.
If you don’t want to go through all the reviews, we have listed the top 10 truly wireless earphones that are available in India, and we have chosen something for everyone, starting from as low as ₹1,799 to as much as ₹25,000.
1. Xiaomi Redmi Buds S – ₹1,799
These are the cheapest truly wireless earbuds that we can recommend. If you have less than ₹2,000 to spare, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds S are your safest bet. They have a compact case, good audio quality (for the price), a water splash-resistant rating (IPX4), and passable battery life. Call quality could be better, and I would’ve liked for it to have a USB Type-C port instead of the age-old microUSB port, but that would really be nitpicking at this price.
2. Anker Soundcore Life Note – ₹2,999
The Soundcore Life Note from Anker is the cheapest set of truly wireless earphones with all the features we would like in the product segment. They have an in-ear-canal design with a stem, which means great noise isolation and good call quality (thanks to four microphones). They feature Bluetooth 5.0, aptX, AAC, and a water-resistant design. The audio quality is much better than the Redmi Buds S. They last 40 hours on a single charge and come with a USB Type-C port. Heck, they even feature fast charging. You can’t really go wrong with these earphones.
3. Shanling MTW100 – ₹5,499
Never heard of Shanling before? Well, it’s a Chinese brand (yeah, we know) that offers audiophile-grade products at affordable prices. The Shanling MTW100 is the company’s first set of truly wireless earphones, and they’ve nearly nailed it. They have an extremely compact case that fits even the coin pocket of a jeans and the audio quality is extremely good. However, the lid of the case feels slightly loose, and the only thing I can nitpick at the price. They feature Bluetooth 5.0, AAC, and can be used in both mono and stereo modes. With a battery life of up to 24 hours on a single charge, the Shanling MTW100 has a USB Type-C port and an IPX7 rating for water and sweat resistance. If you consider yourself an audiophile, prefer these over anything else in this price segment.
4. Soundcore Liberty Air 2 – ₹7,999
The Liberty Air 2 are the truly wireless earphones with the best call quality in the sub-₹10,000 price segment, thanks to four microphones on each side and background noise cancellation for clearer calls. The case is very compact and has great build quality. The audio quality (during music playback) is good, but not great. However, the earphones more than make up for it with their compact size and great call quality. Their controls can be customized and the audio can be tuned as per your preference, thanks to the companion smartphone app. It has a 28-hour battery life, USB Type-C port, fast charging, and even wireless charging.
5. Samsung Galaxy Buds+ – ₹10,490
The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ is the best set of truly wireless earphones in the sub-₹10,000 price segment when you consider all the factors: audio quality, battery life, customization, and design. They fit extremely well in most ears and their case is very compact: as compact as it can get. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0, AAC codec, and dual-driver technology, the audio quality is among the best in the price segment. Plus, there are four microphones on each side, offering good call quality and background noise cancellation. Battery life is 22 hours, and each earbud can last up to 11 hours on a single charge. There’s USB Type-C port, fast charging, wireless charging, and an app for both Android and iOS for customising music controls and audio quality.
6. Apple AirPods – ₹14,900
Released more than four years ago, the Apple AirPods are still among the world’s best-selling truly wireless earphones, and that’s because they nail the basics. Their case is compact, the open-ear design is widely-accepted and comfortable, have Bluetooth 5.0 (with AAC), and the stem design offers the best call quality yet. They can last up to 24 hours on a single charge and pair easily with an iPhone, iPad, or Macs. If you’re an Apple fan (own an iPhone or iPad) and call quality is your biggest concern, then the AirPods are your safest bet. If I were to nitpick something, AirPods don’t have a USB Type-C port (instead, it uses Lighting Port) and lack sweat resistance.
7. Jabra Elite Active 75T – ₹15,499
The Jabra Elite Active 75T are the latest and greatest pair of truly wireless earphones and they offer a more compact design compared to their predecessor (Jabra Elite Active 65T), better audio quality, longer battery life, Bluetooth 5.0 (with AAC), and even wireless charging. They have great call quality, background noise cancellation, 28-hour battery life, water and dust resistance, and customization through a companion app. If you have an active lifestyle and if you git the gym, then the Jabra Elite Active 75T would suit you extremely.
8. Apple AirPods Pro – ₹24,900
Want AirPods’ chart-topping call quality and ease-of-use but with noise isolation and better audio quality? Well, the AirPods Pro are for you. They have much better audio quality than the AirPods and many other truly wireless earphones out there, and the Spatial Audio feature enhances audio even more when paired with an iPhone, iPad, or a Mac. They even feature sweat resistance and wireless charging. However, we would recommend these only for Apple users. Plus, they feature a Lightning Port and not a USB Type-C port.
9. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 – ₹24,990
Thanks to Sennheiser’s decades of experience in audio tuning, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity (with aptX), and high-quality drivers, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 are arguably the best-sounding wireless earphones in the world right now. They feature a compact design, a case with good build quality, a USB Type-C port, fast charging, a quad-microphone setup for good call quality, and a companion smartphone app. The only thing they lack is wireless charging, but if you want the best audio quality, you can let wireless charging go.
10. Klipsch T5 II True Wireless Sport – ₹24,900
The Klipsch T55 II True Wireless Sport have audiophile-grade audio tuning, a four-microphone setup for good call quality, a snug fit, IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, in-ear-canal design, a 32-hour battery life, a USB Type-C port, fast charging, and wireless charging. Heck, it even has a moisture removal system inside the case to remove remaining droplets of water in case you leave them moist after your workout or run. And they come with a 2-year warranty period. This is like the sports car of the truly wireless earbuds industry.
