The brand-new Spaces Tab in the Twitter app for iOS and Android now includes podcasts. The social networking site said through a series of tweets that it will randomly select a global sample of users to test the redesigned Spaces Tab, but only in English. Now, areas with live audio interactions will also include podcasts from across the globe.

The audio experience in the Spaces Tab was first updated to make it possible to accomplish this in a way that was clear and allowed customers to just tap listen. According to the company, Twitter listeners will now have easy access to a more customised selection of live and recorded Spaces on topics that are most important to them. A user’s interest in a podcast may be shown by giving it a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down.”
It will also have personalised information divided into sections like news and sports. The interface will also suggest podcasts based on the topics that users often interact with. No matter where the discussions take place, Twitter’s core mission is to bring users closer to the ideas, stories, and artists they already know and love.
Speaking on the new development, the company said, “Our internal research indicates that 45% of people who use Twitter in the US also listen to podcasts monthly, so we’ll automatically suggest compelling podcasts to help people easily find and listen to the topics they want to hear more about. For example, if someone regularly interacts with Vox content on Twitter, they’ll probably see a Vox podcast in a Spaces hub.“
A select group of English-speaking individuals worldwide can now use the redesigned Spaces Tab on iOS and Android, which now includes podcasts. Do note that this is a gradual rollout and will likely reach a large audience in the coming weeks.
