It brings Android 12’s dynamic theming, redesigned control centre, customisable icons and new fonts, privacy features, and a lot more. vivo Origin OS Ocean Features
vivo’s new Origin OS Ocean gets slightly more rounded icons and are customisable. It has integrated the Android 12’s Dynamic theming engine, which automatically matches UI elements with the colours of the wallpaper and theme applied. It also comes with a new Ocean Live wallpaper.
The control centre now offers more information about the battery, network, and some security features. Transitions between animations have been made a lot smoother than before. The operating system gets an improved multi-window interaction. You can swipe up from the bottom left corner of the display to open the desired app into a smaller window. You can also drag and drop this window for split-screen viewing.
Origin Cover is a new lock-screen that allows you to open your favourite apps by simply dragging the fingerprint scanner button to the desired app on the lock screen. Nano notifications in the Ocean OS get some tweaks in the colour schemes and vivo has added more apps and services to support it.
vivo says that its memory slimming and memory fusion technology reduces unwanted processes and memory junk files to provide up to 50 percent more memory storage.
The Dynamic Caller UI helps you distinguish unknown callers from your saved contacts at a glance. vivo says the Origin OS Ocean will use an industry-first 3-channel information transmission system for emergency service. It will notify via phone calls, text messages, and flashing home screen alerts along with the location details to the emergency contact.
The camera app comes with a multi-function camera button, which can control the stabilization, focus length, exposure, and other functions. Swipe gestures on the viewfinder help to quickly add real-time effects to your videos.
The Origin OS Ocean also comes with a new privacy section that can be accessed by swiping left from the bottom dock. You can set multiple layers of security in the form of biometric verification and hardware-level encryption from this space.
vivo Origin OS Ocean Availability
At the launch of the initial version of the Origin OS, vivo commented that it has no plans to take it global. Similarly, the new Origin OS Ocean is expected to be China-specific as vivo and iQOO have already revealed their plans for Funtouch OS 12 for other regions. You can only hope that some of its features trickle down to the Funtouch OS in your region.
On that note of terrible disappointment and discrimination by the Chinese brand, it’s time to end this story. What do you like about the Origin OS? Would you prefer it over the Funtouch OS? Let us know in the comments section below.
