Vivo is gearing up to launch its flagship Vivo X80 series in India. It is mulling over launching the Snapdragon version of the Vivo X80 Pro by the end of May 2022. The brand launched its Vivo X80 Pro in its home country, China, on April 25, 2022. It offers two processor options—Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and MediaTek’s Dimensity SoC. The smartphone will bring a large Quad HD+ AMOLED display, high screen refresh rate, a flagship Snapdragon chipset, a periscope zoom camera, and wireless charging, among many other features.
Vivo X80 Pro Features, Specifications
The Vivo X80 Pro comes with a premium metal and glass sandwich design. It boasts of a curved display, which is a 6.78-inch E5 AMOLED with LTPO, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 300Hz touch sampling rate. The display can reach a peak brightness of 1500 nits. At the front, it gets a centrally placed punch hole camera cut-out and minimum bezels. The handset employs an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor rather than an optical one found on cheaper devices.
The Vivo X80 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The vanilla Vivo X80 is believed to come with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 chipset. The handset will be equipped with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The quad-camera setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.57 aperture and gimbal OIS. It is accompanied by a 48MP ultra-wide shooter, a 12MP portrait/telephoto snapper, and an 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS. The smartphone can record 8K 4K videos at up to 60fps. For selfie addicts, it comes with a 32MP front-facing shooter, which can record 4K videos as well.
Some noteworthy features include IP68 water/dust resistance, USB Type-C 3.2, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, and QZSS, among others. The Vivo X80 Pro will pack in a 4,700mAh battery coupled with an 80-watt wired fast charging support. It also gets a 50-watt wireless charging support and 10W reverse charging. The device runs on OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12 in China, but expect it to come with a Funtouch UI in India.
Vivo X80 Pro: Price, Availability
The Vivo X80 Pro with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC starts at CNY 5,499 (approx. ₹63,700) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The top-spec 12GB RAM + 512GB variant is priced at CNY 6,699 (approx. ₹77,500) in China. Expect the Vivo X80 Pro to start at around the ₹75,000 mark in India. It comes in black, cyan, and orange colourways.
