Vivo X80 Series With 6.78-inch AMOLED Display, Dimensity 9000 SoC Launched: Price, Specifications

Vivo has launched the Vivo X80 series comprising the Vivo X80 and the Vivo X80 Pro smartphones in China today. Just like the last generation X-series devices, the all-new X80 series boasts of Zeiss-backed cameras. Both the smartphones have AMOLED 120Hz displays, 50MP main cameras, and 80W fast charging support.

The Vivo X80 Pro comes in two chipset options一a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. On the other hand, the vanilla X80 model arrives with Dimensity 9000 SoC. Let us take a look at the detailed specifications of these new flagship devices ahead.

Vivo X80 Series Pricing And Availability

The Vivo X80 price in China starts at CNY 3,699 (roughly ₹43,300) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The 8GB RAM variant with 256GB of internal storage costs CNY 3,999 (roughly ₹46,800). The other two models with 12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB storage costs CNY 4,399 (roughly ₹51,500) and CNY 4,899 (roughly ₹57,300) respectively. The device comes in orange, black, and green colour options.

The Vivo X80 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs CNY 5,499 (roughly ₹64,350). The other two variants that come with Qualcomm chipsets pack 12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage. The prices of these models are CNY 5,999 (roughly ₹70,200) and CNY 6,699 (roughly ₹78,400) respectively. On the other hand, the Dimensity 9000 SoC-equipped X80 Pro with 12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB storage costs CNY 5,999 (₹70,200) and CNY 6,699 (roughly ₹78,400) respectively. 

Both the X80 and X80 Pro are set to launch in the global markets on May 8. Speculations are rife that we might also get to see the launch of the Vivo X80 Pro Plus model at the company’s global event scheduled for next month.

Vivo X80 Specifications, Features

The Vivo X80 flaunts a 6.78-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a Dimensity 9000 processor. The handset ships with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

In terms of imaging, the smartphone features a triple-camera setup, which includes a 50MP main camera with a f/1.75 aperture and OIS support. Accompanying it is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto sensor which supports up to 20x digital zoom. Selfies are handled by a 32MP camera. The smartphone ships with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging.

The Vivo X80 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch Samsung-made E5 LTPO AMOLED display that has QHD+ 3200×1440 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display has a 92.22% screen-to-body ratio, P3 colour gamut, and 120Hz screen refresh rate.

As mentioned above, the device offers two chipset options一a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The smartphone packs up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Additionally, the handset runs Android 12 out of the box.

The X80 Pro relies on a quad rear camera setup for imaging. The camera module comprises a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP portrait sensor, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The camera on the device makes use of Vivo’s V1+ ISP chip for improved low-light photography. On the front side, the handset boasts of a 32MP selfie camera.

The device is fueled by a 4,700mAh battery unit that supports 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Connectivity-wise, the handset offers features such as a dual-SIM card slot, 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3 (Dimensity), and a Type-C port. Additionally, the smartphone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock support, advanced 27-layer VC cooling system, HiFi audio chip, NFC, stereo speakers, and IP68 water and dust-proof certification.
