Vodafone Idea Strengthens 4G Network In Gujarat, Offers 75GB Extra Data In Annual Prepaid Plans

Vodafone Idea has enhanced its 4G network in Gujarat to provide faster and a more reliable connection to its customers in the state. The third largest telecom operator in India is also offering additional data in select long-term prepaid plans for free. 

Vodafone Idea Improves 4G Network In Gujarat

Vodafone Idea has deployed a highly efficient 900 MHz band over 6060 L900 sites in Gujarat. It has also deployed more spectrum in the 2100 MHz band in over 6850 sites in the states, covering 86 percent of the state’s population with stronger indoor coverage and faster speeds. The telecom operator said the upgrade has expanded its data capacity by 36% from July 2020 to August 2022, thanks to the addition of over 1455 TDD sites.

Vodafone Idea has also purchased around 113.6 MHz of spectrum across the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2500 MHz bands to offer 5G services in Gujarat. As a result of the upgrade in network, the company says customers in commercial and residential areas in Anand, Ahmedabad, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Valsad, and other key towns are experiencing enhanced voice and data services, even in indoors and in high-density pockets. 

“I would like to extend an invitation to all the mobile users in Gujarat to enjoy superior, upgraded Voice and Internet experience on the Vi network. We have enhanced our coverage in Gujarat and strengthened indoor network experience across cities,” Shailendra Singh, Cluster Business Head-Gujarat, Vodafone Idea said.

Customers in Gujarat will also be able to enjoy additional data benefits on select 4G plans. Customers recharging with the ₹1,449 pack with 180 days validity will get 50 GB extra data, while the ₹2,999 and ₹3,099 annual packs (latter with Disney+ Hotstar bundled) will get 75GB data extra, at no additional cost. The offer is valid between October 18 and October 31.
