Google has provided more details on the upcoming update for Google Assistant for Wear OS, a day after Samsung teased it. Google has introduced a new design and faster responses for its Google Assistant on Wear OS devices. Let’s take a look at the new changes.

Get the latest technology news, reviews, and opinions on tech products right into your inboxAfter the update, launching the Assistant (via button or the “Hey Google” Hotword) will bring up a new screen that asks “Hi, how can I help?” with a four-colour light bar at the bottom. For a brief period, you will also see the Assistant logo.
Alongside a redesigned look, Google claims that the Assistant will be even faster now. The tech giant claims “faster than ever response times on your watch”. The updated UI and speed fall in line with the new Google Assistant (NGA), which is currently exclusive to Pixel devices.

Assistant on Wear OS watches can perform a host of productive operations. You can “ask Google to help set a timer while cooking, stay on top of your appointments by asking your calendar what’s next”. It will also let you play your favourite music. Google has confirmed that the new assistant for the Galaxy Watch 4 series will be available for download on Google Play. The previous assistant on Wear OS is part of the Google app, which is not found on the Samsung wearables. However, this appears to be changing soon now.
