There are various rumours swirling about the next ultra-flagship from Xiaomi. A host of renders of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra popped up recently, giving us a look at both the front and back. A large circular camera module is slated to come with the phone, and a similar implementation can be seen on the Huawei Mate 40 RS.

What is interesting here is that Xiaomi seems to have done away with the second display on the rear, one of the highlighting features of the Mi 11 Ultra. The successor is also rumoured to carry the same camera setup as the 11 Ultra and we could see a 50MP main + 48MP 5x telephoto + 48MP ultra wide-angle combination. The difference will be in the main camera sensor, which, according to leaker Digital Chat Station, could be the new Sony IMX 8XX series.
Apart from this, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is also rumoured to be the very first smartphone from the brand to come with a Leica-tuned camera. Yes, you read that right. There has been a rumour in the industry about a possible partnership between the two brands for a very long time. Leica, in the past, has worked extensively with Huawei on their flagships, and Xiaomi could gain a thing or two by partnering with the legacy camera maker. Apart from this, the phone is being rumoured to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
We could see more leaks about the 12 Ultra in the coming days as the phone makes its appearance at multiple certification agencies. In the meantime, Xiaomi is gearing up to announce the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro in the global markets on the March 15. Both these devices will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and pack a triple camera setup on the rear along with 67W of fast charging support.
