Along with the Mi Smart Band 6 NFC, Xiaomi also unveiled its new projector, the Mi Smart Projector 2. It is a watered-down version of the Pro model that was launched earlier this year. It comes with a taller and more compact design. To power the smart bits, Xiaomi has opted for the Android TV operating system with the PatchWall interface on top. It comes with built-in Chromecast support and several pre-loaded apps such as YouTube and Netflix. You also get Google Assistant that enables you to search for your favourite movies and TV shows with voice commands. On top of that, the projector also doubles up as an IoT hub to control compatible smart home devices.

However, unlike most DLP units that rely on conventional lamps, the Mi Smart Projector 2 uses LEDs. The projector offers Full HD picture quality. It can form 60-inch to 120-inch screen on your white wall.
To get rid of warped pictures, the projector comes with multi-angle keystone correction. Moreover, it features autofocusing to deliver sharper pictures across the board. The projector has a peak brightness of 500 ANSI lumens, with support for HDR10. However, we doubt the actual performance of HDR content, which has been a problem with almost all “HDR-capable” projectors.
The Mi Smart Projector 2 features a set of 5W stereo speakers. However, for a cinematic experience, you are better off with a soundbar or a home theatre system. At the back, the projector offers a headphone jack, USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI out. To run Android TV 9.0 OS, the projector is equipped with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. In terms of connectivity, it covers dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0.
