Xiaomi Pad 5 Launching Alongside Xiaomi 12 Pro On April 27 In India

Xiaomi is all set to launch the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone in the Indian market on April 27. Ahead of the launch, the brand has now confirmed that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be accompanied by the Xiaomi Pad 5 at the upcoming launch. To those unaware, the Xiaomi Pad 5 series, consisting of the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, made its debut back in August in Xiaomi’s domestic market. The vanilla variant—the Xiaomi Pad 5 was launched in global markets a couple of months later.

The upcoming Xiaomi Pad 5 will mark Xiaomi’s comeback in the tablet category in the Indian market. To recall, although Xiaomi had launched the OG Mi Pad back in 2015 in the Indian market, the company didn’t release its successor. With the Xiaomi Pad 5, the company seems to be trying its luck once again in the Android tablet segment in the Indian market.

The launch teaser showcases a dual-rear camera setup for the upcoming tablet, but the Xiaomi Pad 5 (Global and China variants) comes with a single rear camera. This suggests that the company could launch the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro (Chinese variant) as the Xiaomi Pad 5 in India. There is also a possibility of Xiaomi launching a completely different product specially customized for the Indian market.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 flaunts an 11-inch LCD display with a WQHD+ (1,600 × 2,560 pixel) resolution, 275ppi pixel density, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports 500nits peak brightness and features HDR10 as well as Dolby Vision certification.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Pad sports an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor that is fabbed on a 7nm fabrication process. The tablet packs 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS3.1 storage. It boots MIUI for Pad, based on Android 11.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It is backed by an 8,720mAh battery unit and supports 33W fast charging. The Xiaomi Pad 5 offers a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos sound. It weighs 511grams and measures 254.69 × 166.25 × 6.85mm.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Price in India (Expected)

The Xiaomi Pad 5 is expected to launch at around ₹25,000 price point in the country.
