Redmi 9i Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 9i has a plastic body with P2i coating for water splash resistance. It has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop-shaped notch. The phone runs Android 10 with MIUI 11. The company has announced that the phone will soon receive the MIUI 12 software update. It has an Aura 360 design with a grip-friendly texture that doesn’t attract fingerprints and smudges.
The smartphone is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G25 processor. This 12nm processing chipset has four 2GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores, four 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores, and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. The phone also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage space expansion.
At the front, the Redmi 9i has a 5MP selfie camera with an F2.2 aperture, and it supports Face Unlock. At the rear, the smartphone features a 13MP primary camera with F2.2 aperture and Full HD video recording. It has GPS, a dual nano-SIM card slot, 4G LTE, Wi-FI b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, a microUSB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging.
We think that it is better to spend up to ₹1,500 more to buy the Redmi 9 Prime over the Redmi 9i as the former offers a brighter screen with Full HD+ resolution, a more powerful MediaTek Helio G80 processor, a quad-camera setup (13MP wide+8MP ultrawide+5MP macro+2MP depth), an 8MP selfie camera, a fingerprint reader, and a USB Type-C port.
