Four months after launching the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India, Xiaomi is introducing a new colour variant for the two phones. They will now be available in the Champagne Gold colour in the Indian market. Originally, the Redmi Note 9 series smartphones were only available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black colours. With the addition of the new colour, the phones are available in four colours.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro Max Specs
The Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max sport 6.67-inch IPS LCD screens with Full HD+ resolution, 450 nits brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screens have a punch-hole-shaped cutout towards the top-centre part. The phones use plastic chassis that is sandwiched between two panels of Gorilla Glass 5 panels. They also come with P2i coating for water splash resistance.
The two devices run Android 10-based MIUI 11, and they will soon receive the MIUI 12 update. They are equipped with the Snapdragon 720G processor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has 4GB/6GB RAM, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has 6GB/8GB RAM. Both smartphones are available in 64GB and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage variants, and both of them have dedicated microSD card slots.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 16MP front-facing camera with an F2.5 aperture and a 1/3.06-inch sensor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max uses a 32MP camera with a 1/2.8-inch sensor. Both smartphones can record up to Full HD (1080p) 30fps videos using their selfie cameras. At the rear, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP wide-angle camera (1/2-inch, F1.8 aperture, 26mm lens, PDAF), 8MP ultrawide camera (1/4-inch, F2.2, 13mm), a 5MP macro camera (F2.4), and a 2MP depth sensor (F2.4). The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a similar setup, but it has a 64MP sensor instead of a 48MP sensor. Both smartphones can record up to 4K 30fps videos using their primary cameras.
Xiaomi has equipped both Redmi Note 9 Pro series smartphones with dual-SIM card slots, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, IR port, and USB 2.0 Type-C port. Both smartphones feature side-mounted fingerprint readers that are embedded into the power buttons. They are powered by 5,020mAh batteries that support fast charging. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is limited to 18W fast charging, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max can go as high as 33W fast charging.
