Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control With Google Assistant Launched In India: Price

Xiaomi has added its second smart speaker in India, dubbed the Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control. It replaces its Mi Smart Speaker, which was launched in the country back in 2020. The Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control offers smart voice control, an IR blaster to control devices, far-field voice microphones, an LED clock, and a built-in Chromecast, among other features.

The Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control comes with a matte black paint job and is quite compact, measuring 95 x 95 x 14mm. It weighs around 628 grams. The smart speaker sports a 1.5-inch full-range speaker and can be paired with a similar speaker for a stereo sound effect. The speaker comes with a mesh grille on all its sides to provide a wide 360-degree sound. It gets a two-microphone array with far-field voice support to wake it up.  

On the top of the portable speaker, you get four physical buttons on the top for volume up/down, microphone mute, and track skipping. There’s an LED digital clock at the front, which enables you to use it as a standalone desk clock. Furthermore, the clock has some nifty features like a DND mode and can adjust brightness automatically depending on light conditions.  

Since the speaker boasts an IR blaster, it can control any devices with IR functionality in your house via the Xiaomi Home/Mi Home app on your smartphone. Moreover, it has a built-in Google Assistant to voice control all smart devices in your household. That’s not all, its built-in Chromecast feature allows you to cast media to supported devices. For efficient connectivity, it makes use of dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.0.

The Xiaomi Smart Speaker IR Control is priced at ₹4,999 in India. It will be available to purchase via Mi.com, Flipkart, and other retail outlets. The speaker comes in a sole black colour option.
