To track your fitness and activity, the fitness band is equipped with an accelerometer, gyro, heart rate sensor, and blood oxygen monitor (SpO2 sensor). It can also collect data around Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep phase, which is considered essential for learning and memory. The band can nudge you to move if you sit in one place for too long. To make sense of all this data, Xiaomi has collaborated with the PAI health profiling service.
The Mi Smart Band 6 NFC comes with 30 fitness modes including running, cycling, swimming, elliptical, and rowing to name a few. It also has dedicated modes for Cricket, Basketball, Boxing, Volleyball, Table Tennis, and Badminton.
The band offers several smart bits such as call and message notifications, music playback controls, reminders, calendar events, and weather forecasts. It can also work as a remote shutter for your phone’s camera. Additionally, Xiaomi has baked in Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant in the global version.
The gadget syncs with your smartphone over Bluetooth 5.0 LE. It is compatible with smartphones running Android 5.0 (and newer) or iOS 10.0 (and above). The fitness tracker houses a 125mAh battery, which according to Xiaomi, lasts up to 12 days on a single charge. It comes with a magnetic charger that can juice up the band within two hours.
