YouTube keeps updating its website and mobile apps in order to bring about the best possible experience to its users. Usually, the changes are made component-by-component and most of the time, we notice slight visual overhauls in the YouTube interface. This time around, however, YouTube has made a big visual redesign of its video player, especially in the fullscreen mode, for its Android app. The redesigned player comes with a row of buttons, a tweaked positioning of the video timeline/scrubber, and more.
YouTube For Android Undergoes A Major Design Overhaul

The row is present at the bottom of the screen and lets you like, dislike, open comments, save a video to playlists, and share a video.
To the right is a “More Videos” shortcut, which now has a thumbnail preview and opens up the usual carousel of other related videos one can watch. It’s more or less the Up Next queue, but in a slightly new fashion.
Owing to these design changes, the video timeline/scrubber has now been pushed up a little, which will make it more convenient to access. Furthermore, YouTube has replaced its three-dot overflow button with a gear icon. Tapping the icon brings you the same options, and this change is merely cosmetic. Lastly, by tapping the chevron next to the video title, you can visit the Description side panel of a video.

As of now, the changes have been made live for YouTube Android app, but we can expect the iOS app to be updated in the coming days. Furthermore, we can hope that the web interface also receives similar treatment and the fullscreen UI for web is also updated in the near future.
