Festive season is almost here! With life moving into ‘happier’ gear, what better way to usher in the season of parties, friends, family get-together and vacations than with one of these best budget smartphones? Smartphones that are powerful enough for gamers, have a great camera, and yet won’t break the bank.
So we have come up with a list of the 6 upcoming best budget smartphones that offer you great specs at a great price!
Moto E6
Motorola’s Moto E and Moto G have ended up as bestsellers every year. This year, we expect the Moto E6 Plus to shine. It’s just been revealed at the IFA Berlin expo and should be launching in India very soon.
We expect this to come with a price tag of around Rs 11,000, and in that, you do get a lot: A 6.1-inch 720pHD+ display with a notch, a MediaTek P22 chip, and up to 4GB RAM.

Motorola also uses an almost-stock variant of Android and has come out with some really exciting colours for the E6 Plus, which might be a selling point for some users.
Nokia 6.2
Another gem of a device unveiled at the IFA is the Nokia 6.2. This one sports a Snapdragon 636 chip, with up to 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a stand-alone microSD slot.
A 6.3-inch Pure Display HDR screen, Gorilla Glass protection, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and the promise of three years of security updates (and 2 years of Android version updates) help this device stand out.
But, as with the rest of this year’s crop of phones, the cameras are a major draw: you’ll get three cameras at the rear (A 16 MP main camera, an 8 ultra-wide camera, and a 5 MP depth sensor), and an 8MP camera for selfies. We expect this budget smartphone to be priced at around Rs 15,000.
Vivo Z5
Vivo’s long been popular for their stellar cameras, and the Z5 should be no different. It will come with a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. As for selfies, 32 MP should make this popular with the party crowd!
But the rest of the device seems just as attractive: A Snapdragon 712, a 6.38 inch Super AMOLED display, up to 8 GB RAM, a 4500mAh battery and an in-display fingerprint sensor – all this means it’s really got everything you’d want in one of those best budget smartphones.
What will the Vivo Z5 cost? Going by international market prices, it should be in the region of Rs 16,000.
Realme XT
If you are the kinds who prioritises a smartphone’s camera over everything else, you might want to wait for the Realme XT.
This quad-camera device features a 64 MP main camera, an ultra-wide camera, a portrait camera, and even an ‘ultra- macro’ camera, and Realme says the large size of the main sensor will also make for incredibly detailed shots.
As for the processor, the Realme XT will come with a Snapdragon 712, a new favourite for mid-range devices, and there might even be variants with 6GB or more RAM. You will also get a Super AMOLED display and Gorilla Glass 5 protection front and back!
Redmi Note 8 Pro
Redmi has consistently been one of India’s most popular budget smartphone brand. We expect the upcoming Note 8 Pro to be just as big a hit as its predecessors.
Recently launched in China, the newest member of the Redmi family runs on a MediaTek Helps G90T processor, and uses Xiaomi’s LiquidCool cooling system – that should put a smile on every gamer’s face!
With a 6.53 inch display, Corning Gorilla Glass, 4500mAh battery, 18W Fast Charging, and the bright colours (we love the Forest Green) make this tremendously appealing. However, the real star is the quad-camera system: A 64 MP main shooter, an 8 MP ultra-wide cam, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor!
Prices abroad start at around Rs 14,000, and we expect the launch-time India price to be close to this.
Samsung Galaxy M30s
Samsung is the goliath of the smartphone world and they are just as good at budget devices as they are at fancy flagships. For example, there are the Galaxy M30S. Slated for launch later this month (on Amazon India), this behemoth comes with a 6000 mAh battery. this feature makes every gamer and binge-watching Netflix addict very happy!
There’s also going to be a triple-camera system with a 48 MP main camera, which makes us happy as that also means better Diwali photos. We can also expect a 6.4-inch display (AMOLED, of course) and a final price that’s well under Rs 20,000.
