7 Things You Must Know Before Buying iPhone 7

Last Updated on October 21, 2021 by Rupesh Patil

It’s been a month since the iphone 7 was launched, prices have already started falling and if you’re planning to buy it anytime soon, you must read the 7 things listed below. We tell you everything that you should know before you go ahead and buy the most talked about smartphone of the year…

iPhone 7 is Available in Two New Colours
iPhone 7 is available in 5 new colours including: Matte black, jet black, gold, rose gold and silver. Rose gold is already a huge hit with the audience but if you prefer darker colours, matte black is what you should go for. It’s not just attractive but also slightly more scratch-resistant as compared to other colours.

It’s Water and Dust Resistant
iPhone 7 is dust-resistant and water-resistant but not water proof. Also, smartphones are subject to drops, spills and other damages. This simply means your iPhone 7 is safe if there’s water splashing on it but not if it’s a case of liquid damage. This is one big reason why it needs coverage. You could either cover it with an extended warranty or an accidental damage protection plan. Click here to check out OnsiteGo’s protection plans.

It Has A New Home Button
With the new home button which is completely re-engineered, the iPhone 7 feels as amazing as it looks. It has a fingerprint sensor and relies on the ‘taptic engine,’ which gives you a tactile feedback as you press. Simply put, its pressure sensitive and gives you the feeling that you’ve clicked on the button. This is quite similar to the MacBook trackpad.

It’s Faster Than iPhone 6
iPhone 7 comes with the A-10 Fusion Chip, which enables faster processing. It is the most powerful chip ever used in a smartphone and with this, you can work at twice the speed of iPhone 6. Remember, the faster it is, the more efficient.

It’s Got a Stunning Camera
The iphone 7 camera is a much more improved version of iPhone 6. An added benefit here is the optical image stabilisation, an ƒ/1.8 aperture and a six-element lens. All this put together and you can imagine the picture quality, even in low light. Not to forget, it also has an advanced new feature added to it like the wide colour capture, which can make your photos look sharper and vibrant. Other improvements include faster focus and white balance.

It Comes Without a Headphone Jack
Yes, the iPhone 7 is the first iPhone to come without a headphone jack. Instead, it comes with an adapter that allows users to plug in their headphones through the smartphone’s lightning port. Apple is also all set to launch the air pods early next year that can be connected to the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch.

There’s No 16GB and 64GB Available for iPhone 7
iPhone 7 is only available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. We’d recommend spending a little more and buying the 128GB. It doesn’t make sense to buy Apple’s base model simply because 32GB isn’t enough storage for you if you love clicking pictures and taking videos, especially 4K videos. Also, if you like exploring various apps, you’d better have enough space because they’ll fill up your storage in no time.

iPhone’s are fragile and especially, very expensive when it comes to fixing it. Apple charges a fixed price of Rs 4,500 (inc taxes) for an additional year of extended warranty, irrespective of the iphone cost. OnsiteGo, on the other hand costs anywhere between Rs 1,999 – Rs 3,999 (inc taxes), depending on the purchase price of your phone.

The best part about the OnsiteGo Extended Warranty plan is that it offers free pick and drop across India, and also has the 14 day repair or replacement guarantee for iPhone’s. So if your iPhone can’t be repaired within 14 days, you get a replacement, which is not the case with AppleCare+. Click here to read more about why it’s a wise idea to buy the OnsiteGo extended warranty plan for the iPhone 7.
