Acer Announces Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition Laptop

Today, Acer announced its Aspire Vero laptop National Geographic Edition. This is a special edition of the Aspire Vero eco-friendly laptop that was launched in India back in December. Each purchase of this laptop will help support the National Geographic Society in its work to “protect our world through exploration, research, and education”, Acer said.

What sets the National Geographic edition apart from the original Acer Aspire Vero laptop is mainly the design. The newest edition comes with a topographic map on its cover to remind people of the ill-effects of climate change, resulting in rising sea levels. The inside of the laptop features a yellow border designed in the likeness of the cover of the iconic National Geographic magazine. Additionally, the spacebar has “For Planet Earth” printed in yellow.

The Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition laptop’s packaging doubles as a laptop stand. The inner packaging can function as a multipurpose box. It is made of 85% recycled paper, keeping with the eco-friendly theme. The laptop sleeve is made of 100% industrial recycled plastic (PIR).

Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition Laptop Specifications

The National Geographic edition inherits the same specifications as the original Aspire Vero laptop. It features a chassis with 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and 50% PCR in its keycaps. The 15.6-inch laptop ships with Windows 11 out of the box. It is powered by the 11th-gen Intel Core i7 2.9GHz processor along with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. When it comes to connectivity, the laptop features one USB Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and one USB 2.0 port. Additionally, it also offers Wi-Fi 6 support for better connectivity.

Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition Laptop Availability, Price

The Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition laptop will be first available in China this month, starting at RMB 5,499 (approximately ₹64,500). France will be the next to see its launch in March, with a price tag of EUR 899 (roughly ₹75,800) and upwards. The laptop will later be available for purchase in various countries across the Asia Pacific, but the exact launch dates and pricing aren’t disclosed yet.
