Acer, at the ongoing CES 2022, has announced a trio of ChromeOS-powered Chromebooks—the Chromebook Spin 513, Chromebook 315, and Chromebook 314. The Chromebook 315 and Chromebook 314 come with a unique eco-friendly OceanGlass touchpad which is made out of ocean-bound plastic waste. These new Chromebooks offer up to 10 hours of battery life. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor, up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 128GB eMMC storage. It offers a pair of upwards-facing speakers with DTS audio. It also packs a pair of digital microphones.
In terms of connectivity, the Chromebook Spin 15 supports WiFi 6 802.11ax. In terms of I/O ports, there is a Type-C port for charging and data transfers. It comes with a backlit keyboard and a durable aluminum case. It can be used in four different modes including a tent mode. It measures 299.97 x 234.95 x 16.25mm and weighs 1.28kg.
The Chromebook Spin 315 will go on sale June onwards in North America. It will be priced at $599 (approx. ₹44,659). Whereas, the starting price would be €649 (approx. ₹54,635) in the European region.

The Acer Chromebook 315 features a 15.6-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixel), 16:9 aspect ratio, and anti-glare screen, whereas the Chromebook 314 offers a 14-inch IPS touchscreen display with a Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution, an anti-glare coating, and narrow 8.1mm side bezels. Both these Chromebooks offer an HDR webcam with anti-flare technology and also come with a pair of integrated microphones and a DTS audio feature.
Users can choose between Intel Celeron dual-core processor N4500, Celeron quad-core processor N5100, and Pentium Silver N6000 processor options. These pack up to 8GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB eMMC storage. For internet connectivity, these Chromebooks rely on Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax. In terms of I/O ports, you will find two USB Type-C ports on Chromebook 314, whereas the Chromebook 315 offers a micro-SD card slot also.
The Chromebook 314 measures 326.39 x 225.04 x 20.06 mm and weighs about 1.45kgs. On the other hand, the Chromebook 315 measures 366.26 x 244.09 x 20.06 mm and weighs 1.60kgs. The Chromebook 314 and Chromebook 315 will be available starting at $299 (approx. ₹22,292) from June 2022 onwards, whereas the starting price would be €369 (approx. ₹31,100) in the European region.
