Amazon has announced a new bedside sleep tracker—the Halo Rise. The device utilizes “contactless” technology to track your sleep and wake you up in the morning using lights and a small alarm speaker. It comes with built-in sensors that track human movement and breathing patterns to send alerts.
The product was announced during Amazon’s recently held hardware launch event, alongside the new Kindle Scribe, a new fifth-generation Echo Dot smart speaker, a second Gen Echo Auto device, and the Amazon Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen). Let us take a look at the pricing, specifications, and features of the newly launched Amazon Halo Rise.
Amazon Halo Rise Price, Availability
The Amazon Halo Rise is priced at $139.99, which roughly translates to ₹11,400 in India. The sleep tracker is not yet available for purchase. However, it is expected to go on sale later this year. The Halo Rise will also come with six months of Amazon’s Halo fitness service.
Amazon Halo Rise Features, Specifications
As mentioned earlier, the Amazon Halo Rise comes equipped with contactless technology to track your sleep pattern and wake you up. Hence, it doesn’t require you to wear a fitness tracker or a smartwatch to operate. Amazon states that the sleep tracker doesn’t use any cameras or microphones either. It makes use of built-in sensors to track movements and breathing patterns. However, the retail giant has not elaborated on the exact working mechanism of the device.
The Amazon Halo Rise comes with an ability to differentiate between different breathing patterns. For instance, if you are sleeping with your partner, it should be able to pick out your breathing from theirs, provided you stay closer to the device. The Halo Rise also comes with built-in environmental sensors to gather data on your room’s ambient light level, humidity, and temperature.
Lastly, the new Amazon sleep tracker is compatible with Alexa voice assistant. The company adds that you can “sync Alexa with the Halo Rise smart alarm to be woken up by your favourite song”.
