The Pro versions will be equipped with the latest processors to set them apart from the non-Pro models. We can expect the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to feature the A17 Bionic processor. Meanwhile the standard models will likely come with the A16 chip.
The report adds that the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature 8GB of RAM, which is an upgrade from the iPhone 14 Pro’s 6GB. The non-Pro models are expected to come with 6GB of RAM.
Additionally, it is rumoured that the iPhone 15 Pro will ditch the lightning port for the USB Type-C port. It will make the transition to USB C smoother, considering the European Union’s mandate for a single USB connector which will come into effect in 2024.
As for imaging, the primary camera will be upgraded to 8P for the Pro series. The report adds that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will sport a periscope lens.
According to the research firm, the iPhone 15 Pro models will continue to feature a Qualcomm 5G modem because Apple’s in-house modem’s “mmWave signal test results cannot meet Apple’s requirements.” The iPhone maker might release its own 5G modem much later, in 2024.
Previous reports suggest that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will include Apple’s dynamic island. While the Pro models will sport LTPO displays, the standard iPhone 15 models won’t get the feature. This means that the non-Pro models will not support ProMotion and Always-On display.
We can expect Apple to unveil the new iPhone 15 series in September 2023.
