Apple has introduced its affordable new iPhone SE (2022) smartphone. It is a successor to the second-generation iPhone SE, which was introduced by the Cupertino-based giant in 2020. While many expected it to come with a notch type display, it still retains the old design with huge bezels surrounding the screen, a 4.7-inch HD Retina display, and a Touch ID physical sensor below the display. But, it now gets a more powerful A15 Bionic processor and 5G capability.
iPhone SE (2022) Features, Specifications
The iPhone SE 2022 comes with a compact footprint, just like its predecessor. It measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm and is very lightweight at just 144 grams. It boasts of a glass and metal sandwich build, which lends it a premium look and feel. It has a 4.7-inch Retina IPS display with 750 x 1334 pixels resolution, 326 PPI, and 625 nits of peak brightness. It comes with a 65 percent screen-to-body ratio due to its design similar to 2013-2014 smartphones.
The main difference between the second-generation iPhone SE and the iPhone SE (2022) is the change of chipset. The A13 based on the 7nm fabrication process is replaced by the A15 based on a more efficient 5nm process. Our reviews of the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max suggest that the A15 strikes an excellent balance between performance and power efficiency. The Apple A15 Bionic processor in the iPhone SE gets a quad-core GPU similar to the vanilla iPhone 13 and not the 5-core one found on the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. It is equipped with 4GB of RAM and comes with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of NVMe storage.
