Apple MacBook Pro (2022) With M2 Chip Now Available At Apple Stores: Price

The latest 13-inch MacBook Pro is now available for walk-in purchase or same-day pickup at select Apple Stores globally. Customers in India who had pre-ordered it on June 17, 2022 have started receiving their units from June 24, 2022.

Apple had announced the new MacBook Pro powered by the new Apple M2 chip at the WWDC 2022 (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) earlier in June 2022. This chipset is touted to provide a significant performance boost over the Apple M1 chip of the previous iteration. 

MacBook Pro (2022): Features, Specifications

The MacBook Pro (2022) retains the old design language and doesn’t come with a notch on the display. It sports a 13-inch LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution and 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage. The display is now 20 percent brighter, capable of reaching a peak brightness of 500 nits.  

The new MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s self-developed M2 processor. The Apple M2 is an octa-core CPU with four performance cores and four high-efficiency cores, with up to 24GB of unified memory. The GPU packs in ten cores, as opposed to eight on the Apple M1. Apple says its latest M2 chip is 18 percent more powerful compared to the older M1.  

For entertainment purposes, it comes with a four-speaker stereo setup with spatial surround sound. The speakers and the three-array microphones are embedded within the keyboard. Some noteworthy features of the new MacBook Pro include Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, Thunderbolt ports, Touch ID, Touch Bar, Apple’s ProRes, an Active cooling system, a magic keyboard, and an advanced camera ISP for crisp webcam output. The new laptop comes with fast charging support and can reportedly deliver a battery backup of up to 20 hours on a single charge. 

MacBook Pro (2022): Price, Availability

The MacBook Pro (2022) price starts at ₹1,29,900 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The top variant with 8GB RAM + 512GB configuration is priced at ₹1,49,900. The laptop is available for purchase via Apple’s website, the Apple Store app, and Apple-authorised resellers.
