Apple has discontinued the iCloud Documents and Data service and replaced it with the iCloud Drive. iCloud Documents and Data was a system that automatically synchronized data from different apps and made them available across a wide array of devices. Now, the company has merged the service into iCloud Drive.

The company had previously shared that it would merge the service into iCloud Drive, and now the transition has now been completed. If you have been using iCloud Documents and Data service, you will need to turn to iCloud Drive to find all your data files.

Apple’s support page reads, “iCloud Documents and Data, our legacy document syncing service, has been discontinued and replaced by iCloud Drive. If you used iCloud Documents and Data, your account has been migrated to iCloud Drive”.
The support document further explains, “If you used the iCloud Documents and Data service, you need to turn on iCloud Drive to see your files. When you switch to iCloud Drive, the amount of storage space your saved files use in iCloud doesn’t change”.
Furthermore, the support document provides instructions and minimum system requirements for iCloud Drive on iOS devices, Macs, and on the web at iCloud.com. The company also explains that the iCloud Drive allows you to easily store, access, and share files with friends and family. Documents that you store in iCloud Drive stay up-to-date across all of your devices, and you can access them from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.
