Revamped Workout App
With the latest update, the Workout app has been updated to include a host of new features for fitness enthusiasts. There is a new Workout Views feature for runners, which allows them to see various metrics related to running. Users can simply turn the Digital Crown to access the metrics.

Multiple Functionalities For Sleep App
watchOS 9 will add multiple functionalities to the Sleep app, which will let users see time spent in REM, Core, or Deep sleep, as well as the wake-up time. Additionally, you will get sleep comparison charts that allow you to access metrics such as heart rate and respiratory rate.
Adds New Watch Faces
The latest update to the Apple Watch operating system brings along four new Watch Faces:
- Lunar: Apple describes it as a watch face that “depicts the relationship between the Gregorian calendar and lunar calendar.”
- Playtime: A dynamic and interactive watch face created in collaboration with illustrator and artist Joi Fulton.
- Metropolitan: A classic watch face that replicates an analogue watch but with multiple customization options.
- Astronomy: Completely revamped, it adds super detailed 3D versions of the Earth and the Moon.
Furthermore, Apple has also updated Modular, Modular Compact, X-Large, Simple, and Utility Watch Faces to suit larger displays available on the Apple Watch. Additionally, the latest Nike watch faces are now available to all watchOS 9 users.
Adds A New Medication App
If you often forget to take your pills on time, the new Medication app will help you keep track of your medications, vitamins, and supplements. The app can also work in combination with other apps such as Reminders and Cycle Tracking to assist you even better.
Access AFib History Directly From Your Wrist
With the latest watchOS 9 update, people diagnosed with atrial fibrillation can turn on AFib History feature to keep track of their health directly from their wrists. The data will show an estimate of how frequently their heart is in arrhythmia.
