ASUS just unveiled the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition gaming laptop. The device improves upon the regular version of the ROG Strix SCAR and optimises some aspects to provide an overall excellent gaming experience.
The SCAR 17 Special Edition features an Intel Core i9-12950HX CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU, as opposed to the regular version.
ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition Specifications
Depending on the SKU, the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition has a 17.3-inch screen with Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) resolution at 360Hz refresh rate or QHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) resolution panel at 240Hz refresh rate. The panel here gets HDR support along with the option to play Dolby Vision content. The laptop features an Intel Core i9-12950HX processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or 3080 Ti GPU, and up to 64GB of DDR5 4,800MHz RAM.
The Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition PCIe Gen. 4 storage in a RAID 0 array ensures that gamers never face bottlenecks. The laptop’s centerpiece is the Core i9-12950HX inside, which is a 65W TDP laptop CPU. Because this is a ROG product, you do get Armoury Crate, which may temporarily increase the processor to 175W.
Other features of the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition include the use of Conductonaut Extreme, a liquid metal compound that keeps the CPU and GPU about 5°C (41°F) cooler than other metal thermal compounds. It also has RGB lighting and invisible ink on the lid that only appears under UV light to add a pattern to the gaming laptop. It runs Windows 11 Pro out of the box.
The laptop is powered by a 90Whr battery, which lasts for 7 hours of regular usage. Aside from that, the laptop includes all of the typical networking options, such as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, and others.
ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition Price
The ROG Strix Scar 17 SE starts at $3500 (₹2,71,230 approx.) in the US and £4,000 in the UK, with sales beginning in most worldwide countries in Q3 2022.
