ASUS has launched a couple of new Vivobook series laptops at its ‘Wow The World’ online event. The highlight of the event was the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate, which is a hybrid laptop and comes with a detachable form factor. ASUS says that it is the world’s first 2-in-1 detachable Windows laptop with a detachable OLED touchscreen display. It also comes bundled with a magnetic stylus pen. The Taiwanese company says this laptop would appeal to students and artists with its versatility and some nifty entertainment features, which makes it a complete package.

It comes with Pantone-certified colour calibration for display colour accuracy. The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and 0.2ms response time, perfect for watching movies and sports. The display can reach up to 550 nits of peak brightness for a comfortable viewing experience outdoors. It also comes with TUV Rheinland eye certification, which cuts up to 70% of harmful blue light.
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate is powered by a quad-core Intel Silver N6000 processor clocked at 1.1GHz for low power utilisation. However, it can offer burst performance at 3.3GHz when required for intensive tasks. It comes equipped with up to 256GB of SSD and up to 8 GB of DDR4 RAM.

The laptop comes has two cameras: a 13MP rear-facing snapper and a 5MP selfie camera. The device also has a detachable keyboard, and its keys have a 1.4mm key travel, 19.05mm full-size key pitch, and a 0.2mm key-cap dish. The magnetic stylus pen comes with four interchangeable tips, 4096 pressure levels, 266Hz touch sampling rate, and can be charged via a USB Type-C port. The laptop promises high-quality sound, owing to its quad-speaker setup coupled with a smart amplifier and Dolby Atmos support.
As for the connectivity features, it comes with two USB-C ports, one 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and a microSD card reader. For biometric authentication, it comes with a fingerprint sensor, which is embedded in the power button. The laptop is powered by a 50WHr battery under its hood, which can be charged via the USB-C port and promises up to 60% charge in just 39 minutes. The Asus Vivobook 13 Slate runs on Windows 11 Home edition out of the box.

The ASUS VivoBook 13 Slate OLED laptop comes with a starting price of $599.99 (around ₹44,616) in the US. ASUS India has also started teasing it on its website, suggesting its launch is near. However, if you don’t want to wait or need more computing power, then check out the Asus’ Vivobook 15, which is powered by a Core-i3 CPU and also comes with an OLED screen.
