The ASUS Zenfone 8 was launched in May 2021 with Android 11 onboard. The company released several Android 12 beta updates to the smartphone over the past few weeks. The first Android 12 beta update for the device arrived right after Google I/O 2021, while the second beta update was released last month. Now, it looks like ASUS is planning to release the stable version of the Android 12 update to the Zenfone 8 very soon as it has started recruiting beta testers.

Now, you will need to tap on the gear-shaped icon at the top-right corner of the screen and click “Enroll in the Beta Test Program“. You will be informed by ASUS via email if your application for the Android 12 recruitment has been accepted.
As per ASUS, if you enrol in this beta recruitment, your device will not lose its original warranty. The new beta software release will bring the Zen UI 8 version to your Zenfone 8. The initial beta updates which ASUS had released a few weeks ago was built from open-source Android and didn’t contain any specific feature related to the company’s custom Zen UI software. The Android 12 beta recruitment will end on October 13, 2021, as per the details published by the ASUS Zentalk forum post.

To recall, the ASUS Zenfone 8 was launched in May 2021. The device features a 5.9-inch Super AMOLED display that has Full HD+ resolution. The display has HDR10+ support, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and a pixel density of 446 PPI. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The smartphone packs 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It features a dual-camera setup at the rear, including a 64MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. At the front, the device sports has a 12MP selfie camera. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that supports up to 30W fast charging.
