Asus had introduced the Asus Zenfone 9 smartphone last month. The Zenfone 9 is a compact device that comes with a 5.9-inch OLED display featuring Full HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs Android 12 out of the box and it is confirmed to get two years of Android OS updates and security patches. Now, Asus has announced the Android 13 beta program for the handset, letting users try the latest Android software version ahead of the stable rollout.

To enroll for the same, you will have to head over to Settings > System > System update and click the gear icon at the top-right corner. After that, click “Enroll in the Beta Test Program” in Settings. You will have to agree to the beta test program notice and the Asus privacy policy. Then, you will have to sign up for an Asus member account, fill in the beta test application, and submit the details.
The company will review the application and shortlisted participants will receive the Android 13 update on their Zenfone 9. Do note that as this is a beta program, and only limited seats might be made available by Asus. As of now, the company has not provided any details as to how many applications will be accepted for the beta testing. Additionally, the brand has not provided a timeline for the stable Android 13 update.
Before you enroll in the Android 13 beta program, do note that the build may contain some bugs and some of the third-party applications may not work. So, if you are using the Zenfone 9 as your daily driver, we would recommend you to wait for the stable Android 13 release. Prior to releasing the Android 13 beta for the Zenfone 9, the brand had seeded the Android 13 developer preview for the ZenFone 8, which was launched as the ASUS 8Z in India.
