God of War PC Port Gets New Trailer, System Requirements Revealed The God of War franchise will be headed to PC next year. That’s approximately four years after its last release launched as a console seller for the PlayStation 4. The PC port was originally announced earlier this year, but now Sony has revealed the system requirements. As expected, the game will require a beefy gaming rig to run at 60fps maxed out in all its 4K glory. The bare minimum system requirements cite the then mid-range GTX 960 GPU. Just don’t expect to do better than 720p at 30fps with all the eye candy turned off with an ancient NVIDIA Maxwell card. Its Pascal equivalent, the ubiquitous GTX 1060, is the recommended GPU to experience the game in “original” graphics fidelity mode mimicking the PS4’s performance of 1080p at 30fps. Jump another generation to the Turing and the game is promised to run at 60fps at high settings on a 1440p monitor. You will, however, need more than an RTX 2060 for that privilege. This is a bit tragic considering NVIDIA has chosen to resurrect that card and not the RTX 2070 to beat GPU shortage blues. The scalpers, however, can experience God of War at 60fps on a 4K monitor with all the graphics details dialled to eleven with the RTX 3080. But we all know that they’d rather be mining crypto with all their high-end Ampere GPUs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRqYM-mmWPY The God of War PC port will also be reworked to support NVIDIA’s DLSS and Reflex, which is the GPU maker’s low-latency enhancement. The former employs deep learning models to render games at lower target resolutions before reconstructing them to the full display resolution, without perceptible loss in quality. AMD GPU owners can also expect support for the native FidelityFX Super Resolution. The PC port will feature graphical improvements ranging from higher-resolution shadows, greater overall resolution, improved screen-space effects such as reflections, and uncapped framerate. Meanwhile, Sony has released a new trailer that showcases some of these improvements.
