Apple announced a new unique way of allowing your iPhones to double up as a powerful webcam for video calls and tabletop shoots. Called the Continuity Camera, the feature allows iPhones to be mounted on top of a MacBook to provide a wide field of view at the highest quality, ensuring what is probably a professional-grade webcam setup for your needs.
Apple showcased Continuity Camera for iOS 16 and macOS Ventura at WWDC 2022, showing a special mount that houses the iPhone 13 (and now the iPhone 14 as well) at a specific angle to capture both a crystal clear shot of your face, and with a flick of a button, the entire tabletop in front of the MacBook without tilting the screen down.

The Belkin mount features a heavy foldable clip that quickly mounts the iPhone to the top of the MacBook. The mount also has a ring grip that helps double up as a grip to use the iPhone outside the webcam setup.
The Belkin mount is MagSafe compatible and has a ring grip and a kickstand. It also works with MagSafe compatible cases.
“Mount your MagSafe compatible iPhone securely to your Mac laptop to utilize the new Continuity Camera features of the latest version of macOS for FaceTime, capturing content, video conferencing and more. The magnetic attachment allows for easy, seamless hands-free camera streaming. Easily rotate your iPhone to portrait or landscape. When not connected to your Mac laptop, the magnetic mount also doubles as a ring grip and kickstand for viewing videos or enjoying other content on your iPhone,” Apple said in the product listing.
The Belkin iPhone mount with MagSafe is available in black and white colour variants. It is available for purchase from Apple stores and is priced at $29.95 (roughly ₹2,480).
