Best Smartphones Under ₹10,000: The Best of 2020

The best smartphones under ₹10,000 for the year 2020 that are listed here have been carefully chosen after considering their design, performance, camera quality, battery life, software update support, and features.

    1. POCO M2 – ₹9,999 Onwards

    POCO M2

The POCO M2 is the best smartphone under ₹10,000 in India right now. It offers the perfect balance of hardware specs, camera, battery life, and pricing. It has an attractive and modern-looking design with a water-repellent coating. It sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen that’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It runs Android 10-based MIUI 12 and is equipped with the fast MediaTek Helio G80 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB or more storage, and a dedicated microSD card slot.

The POCO M2 has an 8MP selfie camera and a 13MP+8MP+5MP+2MP quad-camera setup on the rear. The phone has a dual-SIM card slot, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, IR port, USB Type-C port, a headphone jack, and a fingerprint reader. The POCO M2 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, and it supports 18W fast charging. The phone is fast and lasts more than a day, even with heavy usage.

    2. Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime – ₹9,999 Onwards

    Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime

Although the Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime is exactly similar to the POCO M2 in terms of specs, we’ve ranked it second in this list because Redmi-branded phones tend to have more unwanted apps, games, and bloatware out of the box, which can make your experience a little bit unsatisfying at first. However, you can remove most of the bloatware and disable ads, but that needs a little tinkering around, which we don’t think is ideal. The Redmi 9 Prime is also available in more colours than the POCO M2. Refer to POCO M2 for all the Redmi 9 Prime specs as they offer the same features and specifications.

    3. Realme Narzo 20A – ₹8,499 Onwards

    Realme Narzo 20A

The Realme Narzo 20A is an impressive phone but misses out on a few features that are available on the POCO M2 and the Redmi 9 Prime. For instance, its 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen resolution is just HD+ compared to the POCO M2 and Redmi 9 Prime’s Full HD+ resolution. It lacks the modern USB Type-C port and uses the old microUSB standard. Moreover, it has slower Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless connectivity standards. It does manage to beat both the POCO M2 and the Redmi 9 Prime in terms of camera, though. It has a larger rear-facing primary camera sensor, which means it captures slightly better images. Plus, it can record 4K videos, whereas the POCO M2 and the Redmi 9 Prime max out at 1080p videos.

The phone runs Android 10-based Realme UI and comes equipped with the Snapdragon 665 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, and a microSD card slot. The Narzo 20A has an 8MP selfie camera. At the rear, it has a triple-camera setup consisting of a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP black-and-white camera, and a 2MP retro camera. Both 2MP cameras are practically useless, which is why this phone had to settle for third place. It has 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, fingerprint reader, and a microUSB port. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 10W charging.

    4. Xiaomi Redmi 8 – ₹9,999 Onwards

    Xiaomi Redmi 8

The Redmi 8 is also a well-rounded phone, but it has a slower, Snapdragon 439 processor compared to the POCO M2, Redmi 9 Prime, and the Realme Narzo 20A. It has a 6.2-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a fingerprint reader. The phone runs Android 10-based MIUI 12. It features 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a microSD card slot. It has an 8MP selfie camera and a 12MP+2MP rear-facing camera. Other features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, IR Port, USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

    5. Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual – ₹6,999 Onwards

    Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual

The Redmi 8A Dual is very similar to the Redmi 8, but it is a downgrade in terms of the camera and lacks a fingerprint reader. The phone has the same 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen, Snapdragon 439 processor, Android 10, 8MP selfie camera, 5,000mAh battery, and 18W fast charging as that of the Redmi 8. However, it uses a slightly inferior 13MP primary camera on the rear and lacks the infrared port. It has 4G LTE, dual-SIM card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, and a headphone jack. The phone also has an older design. It comes in 2GB+32GB, 3GB+32GB, and 4GB+64GB variants.

These are the best smartphones under ₹10,000 in India for 2020. There might be other phones that offer better cameras, faster processors, and larger batteries, but they can’t match the combination of internal hardware, screen quality, connectivity, performance, battery life, and software update support that the phones listed above offer.
