Bounce Infinity, an electric two-wheeler company, has announced its partnership with one of the leading oil companies in India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). Bounce Infinity plans to set up battery swapping stations at BPCL’s fuel outlets in 10 cities across the country. This comes after BPCL’s announcement of allocating about 1 lakh crores to develop infrastructure for electric charging and alternate fuels. This strategic partnership with BPCL will help Bounce Infinity to use about 7000 outlets of BPCL to provide charging and battery swapping services to its users.
Vivekananda Hallakere, Co-Founder & CEO of Bounce Infinity, said, “Bounce Infinity has been strategically partnering with prominent industry players to revolutionize the battery swapping scenario. This partnership reiterates our commitment towards a cleaner and pollution-free country by making our network accessible to consumers at the same scale and convenience as refuelling. We look forward to a long-lasting partnership between Bounce Infinity and BPCL”.

It intends to build more two-wheelers employing this technique. Users can simply visit the charging stations and replace their battery packs with low charge with fully-charged ones and continue with their journey. The entire process can be done in a few minutes compared to other EVs with non-removable battery packs, which require a lot of time to recharge. Moreover, this would help reduce the range anxiety of its users and prospective buyers to some extent.
Bounce Infinity says its current energy infrastructure has completed over 1.2 million battery swaps. It is set to increase tremendously once they set up swapping stations at BPCL outlets. BPCL claims its charging stations will be fully equipped with facilities such as washrooms, customer lounge, refreshments, ATM facilities, and more. Along with the battery swapping options, it will also provide AC and DC charging facilities to other electric vehicles. For those unversed, BPCL has a similar partnership with MG Motors and Hero MotoCorp to provide charging facilities at its existing fuel stations.
